We Are lucky the way we are

When I was little my mom would always tell me how lucky was to be living in the future. I will admit I was spoiled. When I read the book A Soldier’s Secret By Shelia Solomon Klass. It was not till then I realized how good my life was. I realized I would have probably not been able to live in that age era. It would have been really hard for me to live in that era the chores were so much harder than today. A woman’s life was harder than a man’s life back then.
First off a woman has to do weaving, laundry, cooking, serving the food, and raise and educate the children. Howard Zinn describes the situation quite well. “It would be an exaggeration to say that women were treated equally with men; but they were treated with respect (Zinn).” The reason they were treated with respect was that they had to basically do everything in the house. This meant that the men technically had a better life, than the woman back then.
On the other hand what men had to do was care for the animals, cutting the firewood, building a fire, shoveling snow, and getting water. Hailo disagrees that woman have it harder he thinks that the men had it harder than the woman and it’s about equal equal. “Then guys, this is proof that men don’t have it any easier than us woman (Hailo).” But I still believe a woman had a harder life because they had to educate the children. I guess that maybe some people had different opinions than me.
Furthermore next time we think are life is so hard. Think about the colonists that had to do basically everything. Now we have technology to do all are work for us.
