For our Rube Goldberg me and Belen are going to trigger a sign to come up from just using a plastic spoons, marbles, wood, cup, and dominios. What were going to do is start out with the spoons on a base and we put the marble on and it goes back in forth till it hits the bottom. and then we are going to have another marble then it would get to the end of the thing gaining enough speed to hit another marble to knock down the dominios. Then the last dominio would hit the cup and knock a sign up saying hello. That is are simple but easy Rube Goldberg.

Why should we care about wind energy? Wind energy is clean and renewable resource that is good for the environment. Things called Wind Turbines create energy without burning any fuel to hurt the environment. Wind turbines create an alternative to oil. Today wind turbines are mostly used to generate. Finding alternative sources in the United States became important in the 1970’s when the world had its first oil shortage.
I believe that people all over the world should be using wind turbines. Because instead of hurting the environment to get oil from the ocean and oil mines .They should get it from wind turbines instead. Wind turbines also generate electricity so a house could just depend on wind energy instead of using a bunch of electricity energy. In 2006 wind turbines in the United States generated enough electricity to power more than 2.4 million homes. That’s more than enough electricity to run Los Angeles.
Furthermore it would be excellent way to stop drilling holes in the ocean and put wind turbines in the ocean to create the fuel we need. It could also probably stop global warming without any oil in the car there would be no smog. See a better way to improve our environment already with my few ideas. How does a wind turbine work you ask? Well the blades on the wind turbines collect the kinetic energy when it goes up and around. The blades are connected to a drive shaft which causes that turns on the electric generator which makes electricity.
Furthermore wind turbines are small and easy to use. Some are so small they can even fit in your backyard. Or if you really wanted to they could go on the roof of your house no matter how silly they look your saving a planet. You don’t even have to do anything except install and then they generator electricity from the clean renewable wind. See you could save a planet and by using a wind turbine.
In addition to this I conclude using oil would just keep hurting the planet. Oil pollutes air and water. Oil also causes global warming and is making the polar bears extinct because all the ice is melting in the North Pole. Oil also is very expensive and cost a lot of money remember in the summer 2008 gas almost reached $ 4.00 a gallon. So I believe using wind energy could save us money and create less polluting. This is why should we care about wind energy !

Problem: Will the toy car accelerate more on the higher angle ramp or the lower angle ramp ?

Hypothesis: I think that the higher angle ramp with the toy car will go faster because the car would gain more speed to accelerate because there is a bigger angle. On a lower angle the car would not gain much speed

Experiment:
Materials: toy car, a ramp, tape, timer, a wall
Procedure:
1. Gather all materials
2. Place your ramp securely on the wall
3. ***Be sure your able to move the ramp***
4. Place the toy car at the top and let go then start the timer
5. Stop timer
6. Move the ramp to the lower angle
7. Repeat steps 4-5
8. Record and observe all results

Variables

CV: toy car, ramp, timer, tape, the wall
IV: ramp
DV: Speed and acceleration

Observation:

Trials:
time
lower angle ramp 3 3 2 2 3

higher angle ramp 2 1 1 0.28 2

*** All numbers are represented in seconds accept trial 4 on the high ramp which it is in milliseconds***

graph posted on home page on blog

Conclusion: My hypothesis was correct. The car gained more speed and accelerated faster on the higher ramp. Than the lower ramp. How I knew was on a lower ramp would be slower not gaining much speed or acceleration. What I think I could have done better was timed more accurate because sometimes I would accidently hit the timer to stop by acciendent and then I would redo that trial which took a while.

Problem: Will the car with the speed and acceleration of the ramp, could it push the block far?

Hypothesis: I think that the toy car if it gets enough speed it could possibly move the block far? It would have to be on a high ramp though. It could also be able to push block if it got off with a good start

Experiment:
Materials: toy car, ramp, tape , a wall, ruler , block

Procedure:
1. Gather all materials
2. Put the ramp on the wall
3. *** Be sure to secure the ramp on the wall***
4. Put the block at the end of the ramp
5. Put the car on the ramp and let go
6. If it moves measure how far the block went
7. Repeat steps 4-6
8. Record all observations and data
9. Clean up all materials

Variables:

CV: Ramp, the wall, ruler, toy car, and the tape
IV: The block moving
DV: Distance

Observation
Trials:

Trials 1 2 3 4 5
Distance 11 18 22 28 15

Conclusion: My hypothesis was correct! When I tested this experiment I put it a high ramp so it could get acceleration and the speed it need to push the block away. I think the reason this experiment worked was that when I put the car on the high ramp it gained speed and pushed the block farther away from the ramp. What I think I could work on is measuring more accurate because I rounded the numbers that did not come out even. I could also work making the ramp steadier because it was not very steady.
